ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Eric Hurley pitched into the sixthinning to earn his first major league win and Chris Davis homered to lead the Texas Rangers past the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-1.

Hurley (1-1) allowed one run and five hits over 5 2-3 innings in his fourth big league start. The 22-year-old rookie struck out three and walked two.

Davis, a 22-year-old rookie from Longview, Texas, was called up from the minors Thursday, and became the first Rangers player to homer in each of his first two starts, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. He hit a two-run shot in his first start Friday against Philadelphia.
